PV Has Small Slice of the Energy Pie
July 7, 2011 No CommentsState Electricity Regulatory Commission (SERC) statistics showed that in 2010, water power generated electricity 401,300 GW-Hours, occupying 19.5% of the total power generated in China; nuclear power generated 76,800 GW-Hours, occupying 1.8%; wind power generated 48,100 GW-Hours, occupying 0.99% of the pie; while solar power only generated 72 GW-Hours, occupying 6/10,000 of China’s generated power capacity in 2010.
On-grid prices were also different: water power was priced at RMB 0.247 per KW-Hour; nuclear power was RMB 0.43 per KW-Hour, while solar power was RMB 1.17 per KW-Hour.
