May 13, 2011 No Comments

The smart grid demonstration project of Gongqingcheng City in Jiangxi Province has passed the first trial on the investigating conference in Nanchang. The whole project has been examined and approved by experts from the Electrical Power Research Institute of China, the State Grid Corporation, Jiangxi Power Design Institute, etc., will be sent to the State Grid Corporation for the next review.

This demonstration project includes distributed power systems, energy storage systems, state monitoring systems, information collecting systems, smart substations, smart communities/buildings, electric vehicle charging infrastructures, emergency centers, etc., which will bring a new low-carbon lifestyle to the city.

One feature of the project is that all smart grid technology by the State Grid has been combined on the same platform, which makes it a powerful and practical system. Also the project embraced international support from Finland and Japan in terms of micro grids, factories and efficiency management. According to the plan, the whole project will be accomplished by the first half of 2013.
