Goldwind: Big Order, Low Price

May 10, 2011 No Comments

Goldwind announced on May 3rd, 2011 that they received an order of wind turbines valued at almost 900 million RMB. But the unit price per 1KW had dropped almost 200RMB over the previous year.

Goldwind signed the contract with CECEP Wind Power Investment Co., Ltd to provide eighty 2.5MW wind turbines to the Xinjiang Hami Wind farm. The contract price is 4495RMB per kilowatt. This is much lower than last year’s average price, 4600RMB to 4645RMB per kilowatt.

According to BJX News, in the first season, sales quantity increased almost 20%, but the sales value only increased 0.04%. The low price of 2.5MW wind turbines reduced Goldwind’s profits.
