State Grid Invests RMB 2.55 Trillion Into Power Grid
May 6, 2011 No CommentsAccording to experts from the Energy Academy of the State Grid Corporation, the company will invest RMB 2.55 trillion yuan in power grid development during the Twelfth Five-year Program. The investment includes 500 billion yuan for the ultra-high voltage power network, 500 billion yuan for the distribution network and 1.55 trillion yuan for other power networks.
During the Twelfth Five-year Program, State Grid will build up a synchronous power network that covers North, Central and East China, based on the Northwest 750 Kv and Northeast 500 Kv power grids. By the year 2015, thirteen direct current transportation projects will be built up based on the synchronous power network.
Meanwhile during the period, the smart grid plan will focus on information, automation and the interactivity of the grid, which includes work on generation, transportation, transformation, distribution and usage of electricity, along with an efficient information platform. In addition, the demand of the terminal device, the smart ammeter, will be around 50 million per year, which will be produced by several domestic manufacturers.
