Anhui’s First Smart Substation Finally in Use
April 23, 2011 No CommentsThe first 110 Kv smart substation in Anhui Province, the Huaibei 110 Kv Huantan substation, was finally put into operation. This substation is among the second round of strong smart grid demonstration projects conducted by State Grid Co., and is also a national key scientific and demonstration project.
The Huantan substation project was launched in July 2010. All electric equipment was installed in December. According to the project manager, the substation adopted a comprehensive data collecting and processing system, which is able to run condition monitoring simultaneously. Also the system can execute a malfunction analysis and provide recovery advice in order to solve problems in a minimum amount of time.
The static investment of the project is about RMB 42 million yuan. There is also a 380V PV power system on the roof which can generate 90,000 KWh of electricity per year. The PV system can help reduce coal consumption of up to 29.2 tons per year, and reduce 89.7 tons of carbon-dioxide emissions and 2.7 tons of sulfur-dioxide emissions.
