ZTE: Eighteen Provinces Embraced SG EPON Smart Grid

April 18, 2011 No Comments

At the China International Smart Grid Summit & Exhibition in Shanghai, ZTE demonstrated their SG EPON smart grid solution. They also shared their experience and current development in their smart grid.

Hangzhou adopted the SG EPON for its smart grid distribution to several districts. This has proven to be more reliable than the current Type C all link-road security system provided by the current telecommunication providers. SG EPON has been going well since the launch.

The Hangzhou Electric Bureau is very happy with this new system and suggests that it will meet the demands of the automatic distribution of Hangzhou’s smart grid.

In addition, ZTE won the bid in early 2010 for Hebei Langfang Electric’s SG EPON in early 2010. This was the first smart grid community demonstration project in China. So far SG EPON has been adopted by eighteen provinces (cities, districts), which made its market share the first in the industry. Meanwhile, ZTE will continue to extend its market and add more functions to the system.
