The Development of Shenyang’s Modern Smart Grid

April 15, 2011 No Comments

Within the next five years, Shenyang Electric Corporation will invest RMB 9.52 billion yuan in the development of the Shenyang grid. By the end of the Twelfth Five-year Program, Shenyang will build its modern smart grid around the 500KV substation.

During the Eleventh Five-year Program, Shenyang has invested 10 billion yuan into grid construction and transformation projects. This included three 220KV substations, 110 66KV substations and an increase in power transformation capacity. Ninety-six percent of the 66KV substations are now powered by dual power supply.

In 2011, Shenyang will launch two 220KV power transmission and conversion projects in Gaohua and Xinli, two extension projects for the 66KV substations in Gaotai and Sunjia, and eleven new 66KV substation projects.

In addition, Shenyang Electric Co. has opened up a 24-hour hot line for power breakdown. They guarantee that support will arrive in forty-five minutes for urban areas and ninety minutes for the suburbs.
