The member of the national committee of CPPCC and the general manager of the China Power Investment Corporation (CPIC), Lu Qizhou said in an interview that CPIC plans to invest three to four nuclear power projects during the Twelfth Five-Year Program.

According to CPIC’s plan, the generation capacity of the corporation will reach 100 million KW, including 5.2 millon KW of nuclear power by the year 2015. This means the ratio of clear energy will increase to 40% from 30%.

The gross profit of the corporation in 2010 was 5.018 billion yuan, with an increase of 13% compared to 2009. This was the year with the most growth since CPIC’s establishment. However, the cost of investment rose to 7.5 billion yuan in 2010 due to the rise in the price of coal.

As they expected, the total assets will reach 900 billion yuan, revenue will reach 200 billion yuan and profits will reach 18 billion yuan by 2015.
